In a first for a wine festival you will be able to peruse and taste wines from all over the region from award-winning labels to the latest vintages, from boutique wineries through to the big names, with The Laneways being organised by varietal groupings, which means you’ll be able to compare the same wines side by side… and to assist you in choosing what to taste there will be experienced wine ambassadors on hand throughout The Laneways, to advise you all about the attributes of Yarra Valley wines. Alongside the wines, The Laneways will also feature a Beer & Cider Laneway featuring the best the region has to offer.
The Festival has tasting cards (10 x standard tastings per card) available for purchase along with your admission ticket beforehand or at the festival on the day.All wines available for tasting will be available to purchase by the glass.
While you are sampling to your heart’s content keep a list of your favourites and place an order that will be packed for you and ready for collection on your way out of the gates to take home, or delivered to your home if that suits you better.
Festival Central will be the main information hub for the Yarra Valley Wine & Food Festival, where you will find fun and details on lively cooking demonstrations from local chefs showcasing their cuisines and providing their unique expert knowledge on the wine and food industry to visitors, as well as a range of other activities and local information.
The Food Carnivàle area will feature a range of the best Food Trucks from Melbourne and the Yarra Valley region and showcase a range of international flavours to go with all the region’s wines, beers and ciders.
While you are sipping your beverage and eating some of the great food on offer you’ll be able to stretch out and enjoy the beautiful lawns of the Festival Common area. With music and kids entertainment and activities we’ll have everything covered for a great day out.
Featuring a wide range of the Yarra Valley’s vibrant culinary community the Farmers Market area will be showcasing local food producers on both days of the festival.
The Festival team are currently working on a series of Masterclasses for you to choose from. These private classes will include special tastings featuring a range of premium wines from some our best known wineries and also a series of masterclasses from some of the lesser known yet equally impressive producers from the region.
